2024 GMC Acadia: New Features, Bigger and Better

GMC has rolled out the 2024 Acadia, and it’s packing more than just a facelift. The third-generation Acadia, revealed at the Detroit Auto Show last summer, promises a driving experience loaded with “More” across the board.

Expanded Dimensions for Enhanced Comfort

The 2024 Acadia is longer, taller, and more spacious than its predecessor, reclaiming some of the first-gen SUV’s proportions. The overall length has grown by 10.6 inches to 205 inches, accommodating a stretched wheelbase that now closely matches the Chevrolet Traverse. The AT4 trim even sits an inch higher, thanks to a suspension lift.

This growth spurt translates into a 27% increase in seat room for second-row passengers and an impressive 80% more cargo space, going from 12.8 cubic feet to nearly 23 cubes.

Power and Performance Boost

Under the hood, the 2024 Acadia boasts a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, churning out 328 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. This marks a significant upgrade from the retired 2023 Acadia’s engine options. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the new powertrain enhances towing capabilities, with a max rating of 5,000 pounds—1,000 to 1,700 pounds more than its predecessor.

Pricing and Trim Lineup

Unveiling early pricing details, GMC doesn’t disappoint with the “More” mantra extending to the price tags. The trim lineup for the 2024 Acadia includes the Elevation, AT4, and Denali:

  • Elevation: $43,995 (Introducing a new trim)
  • AT4: $51,395 (A $6,600 bump)
  • Denali: $55,695 (A $6,195 increase)

It’s worth noting that the entry-level SLE trim, starting at $38,195, has been replaced by the 2024 Acadia Elevation, representing a $5,800 price jump. However, when comparing like-for-like with the 2023 Acadia SLT with the V6, which started at $42,990, the gap seems reasonable given the enhancements in size, power, and standard features.

Other noteworthy details include the inclusion of new ADAS features, such as enhanced lane keep assist, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking, and rear park assist, along with the option for Super Cruise. The 2024 Acadia is set to hit dealerships shortly, offering a compelling blend of style, performance, and advanced features.
